FIFA Ethics and Regulations Watch (FERW) strongly supports FIFA’s decision to organize the Normalisation Committee for the Egyptian Football Association (EFA).

On Thursday, it was announced that FIFA appointed a Normalisation Committee for the EFA.

Its mandate is to be fulfilled by the end of July next year at the latest, which includes running the daily affairs of the EFA and reviewing the national governing body’s statutes to ensure their compliance with the FIFA statutes and requirements, and to ensure their adoption by the EFA Congress.

The Normalisation Committee members are chairman Amr Youssef Hassan El Ganainy, deputy chairman Gamal Mohamed Ali, Sahar Abdel Hak Ahmed, Mohamed Fadl Zahran and Ahmed Abdallah Rady.

The appointment follows the recent resignation of President Hany Abou Rida and the entire EFA board after Egypt’s exit from this year’s Africa Cup of Nations, which the country hosted.

In light of this news, FERW calls on FIFA to do their best in enhancing the management and operations of EFA.

Furthermore, FERW also calls on all football officials to abide by FIFA regulations and act in accordance with the FIFA Code of Ethics to ensure that all practices are conducted in a corruption-free environment, towards the growth and prosperity of football worldwide.
