FIFA Ethics and Regulations Watch (FERW) strongly supports FIFA’s decision to ban Mozambique FA official for 15 years for accepting bribes.

Mr Sidio Jose Mugadza is currently the media spokesman for the Mozambican Football Association.

According to FIFA, its adjudicatory chamber has found that Mr Mugadza had breached art. 11 (bribery) of the 2009 edition of the FIFA Code of Ethics and banned him for fifteen (15) years from all football-related activities (administrative, sports or any other) at both national and international level. Mr Mugadza was also fined 3,000 Swiss francs.

As reported, Mr Mugadza is the third African official banned this week for taking bribes.

In light of this news, FERW calls on FIFA to investigate bribery cases in sports worldwide.

Furthermore, FERW also calls on all football clubs and associations officials to abide by FIFA regulations and act in accordance with the FIFA Code of Ethics to ensure that all practices are conducted in a clean and moral environment.
