FIFA Ethics and Regulations Watch (FERW) strongly supports UEFA’s statement justifying Manchester United’s controversial penalty in their Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

Marcus Rashford slammed home an injury-time penalty, given for handball by Presnel Kimpembe, ensuring United’s progress into the quarter-finals – and PSG’s subsequent elimination.

According to UEFA’s investigation, the use of VAR, and referee Dario Skomina’s decision to award a penalty in the Parc des Princes, was the correct interpretation of the law.

In light of this news, FERW calls on UEFA and FIFA to investigate similar cases worldwide.

Furthermore, FERW also calls on all football clubs to abide by UEFA and FIFA regulations to help ensure a fair play environment.
